Inside the mind of the local consumer.
Why do most businesses get their marketing all wrong?
It’s SIMPLE, they fail to think like a local consumer.
Because they fail to think like a customer, they then fail to give consumers what the consumer wants: instead give then what the business owner wants to give them.
Let me ask you a question. What is your goal?
To build your brand or get your phone to ring?
They are not the same thing.
So think about this, who is your buyer?
Which of your services is your buyer looking for?
More importantly, what “problem” are they trying to solve that your service solves for them?
Remember, the prospective customer who is looking to buy has a strong want or need to be:
- Brought closer to pleasure
- Remove a fear
- Taken away from pain.
So ask yourself these questions:
- What are your most profitable products?
- What are your customers asking for?
Think of it this way, when you ask “how I can help you” what is the first thing out of there mouth?
(those that end up buy, not the lookers)
So if your are not thinking about each of the statements above BEFORE you create your marketing plan, then you may be missing the main goal of your marketing:
To be FOUND by PAYING Customers.
You see, being found buy a buyer is what your marketing strategy should be all about! If it’s not you are wasting your money and time!
Now, when the buyer does find you, what are THEY looking for?
Based on Comscore Local Search Study here is what they look for:
1. Phone Number
2. Address
3. Hours of Operation
4. Website
Make sure that they can easily find all of the above in bold print on your FIRST page of your website or listing.
Regardless of what business you are in, you are in the business of providing solutions. So make it easy for your clients to find you when they are looking for the solutions to THEIR problems.
